A Warm Welcome awaits you at our 18th century “The Old Baker’s Cottage with Vintage Tea and Coffee Shop”.Nestled in the quaint village of Newborough, near Burton on Trent, in the heart of Staffordshire and within walking distance to The Village Inn, The Red Lion pub and restaurant which serve delicious food and drink.
We are a family run Vintage Tea Rooms. it was my dream to run a Vintage Tea Rooms which Ive been able to fulfill and love what I have built up so far and continue to build.
All our cakes are homemade with love by myself and our produce is made fresh with Menu Items Sausage & Bacon Breakfast Rolls, Toasties, Paninis, Cake, Scones with our Daily Lunchtime Specials Board also we have once been compared to the Ritz for our delicious Afternoon Teas (24 hours notice for bookings).
My Sister Jennie works along side me as front of house and my Mom makes the Best Apple Pie which I would highly recommend but be warned it doesn’t last long once arrived.
We are also very Dog Friendly.
We have a lovely Tea Garden Area which is very popular in the Summer our Heated Gazebo Area is ideal for use all year round, we have Bike Racks and Tyre Pump ideal for Cyclists.
We are about 15 minutes to the cathedral City of Lichfield and Burton upon Trent (the Brewing Heritage Centre), and just over a mile from Hoar Cross Hall Health Spa. Also within easy reach is East Midlands Airport, Tamworth, Uttoxeter, Derby and the National Forest.
For the thrill seekers Alton Towers Theme Park, Drayton Manor Theme Park and Zoo, Tamworth Castle and Gullivers Kingdom Theme Park are all only approx 30 mins drive away. Wedgewood pottery, Royal Doulton, along with numerous stately homes and national trust properties such as Shugborough, Sudbury and Kedleston Hall are also only a short drive away.
For walkers too, enjoy the stunning scenery of the Derbyshire Peak District including Dovedale, Ashbourne, Bakewell, The Roaches, Manifold Trail, High Peak Trail and Tissington Trail and other popular walks. Newborough also comes alive in May with the Ceremony of the ancient art of Well Dressing and the Church Flower Festival at All Saints Church with it’s Tower and square lower stage.
For that touch of luxury why not visit Hoar Cross Hall Health Spa, also close by and within easy driving distance are Tutbury, home to Tutbury Castle; the Abbots Bromley Horn Dance. For the aviation enthusiast why not visit Tatenhill Aviation for a flying lesson. The UK’s remembrance centre at the National Memorial Arboretum at Alrewas is 11 miles away, and the new FA ground at St Georges Park is just 2 miles away from us.
